Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust Reports Upswing in Donations Following Launch of New Website 1

Press Release

For Immediate Release

The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) responds to over 1000 missions a year, providing critical care to seriously sick and injured people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Many will be surprised to learn that the Air Ambulance Service neither receives nor seeks government, NHS or National Lottery funding. This vital life-saving service is funded entirely by donations.

Cornwall Air Ambulance chose B Corp-certified SEO and web design agency Solve to design a new website, its key focus being to improve website performance to encourage more people to support the charity and help it fulfil its true potential.

CAAT reports that since its new website launched in November 2023, it has generated an enormous increase in donations when compared to the same period last year. The incredible amount raised (which was the highest amount ever raised for a Christmas campaign!) will go towards funding a second helicopter and enable them to deliver more missions, advanced care and help save even more lives. Thanks to the #HELi2 Appeal, this will be the first time that Cornwall Air Ambulance has owned two aircraft and will put them at the forefront of air ambulance critical care provision in the country.

Solve Director, Lawrence Harmer, said: “This project was a bold journey that involved the dedication and expertise of multiple creative minds within Solve, including design, development, SEO, and project coordination. Since November we have seen a 54% increase in site traffic and a 222% increase in conversions, including donations, shop sales, and event registrations. It’s a real success story and we hope that even more lives will be saved as a result.”

Jon Michael from Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust said, “We loved working with Solve on this project and are extremely pleased with the outcome. Solve exceeded our expectations and we now have a website that will help us continue our vital work more successfully than ever before”.

In the last year alone, Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust’s crew has carried out 1,050 missions across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Visitors to the new website can view the helicopter’s mission log on a new interactive page to find out where each of these missions has taken place.
